When we are open there’s Jazz! Tonight Bastille Day July 14th 7-10pm, La Cour, French Bistro & Jazz Club, presents The Julie Monley Jazz Trio.
Come Celebrate Bastille Day à la française!
Julie Monley is originally from Denver, Colorado.
After several years of classical studies, she devoted herself to jazz.
She worked nearly ten years in America notably with saxophonists George Keith and Phil Urso, pianist and composer Joe Bonner, and Peruvian guitarist Manuel Molina. In London she worked with Welsh guitarist Dylan Fowler and drummer Tony Crombie.
After moving to Paris, France in 1986, she won the best vocalist prize at the 1987 “Jazz Festival de Vienne.” In 1995, she won second prize at “Tremplin Jazz du Val d’Oise” competing with 185 groups of amateurs and professional musicians from throughout Europe.
In August 1998, Julie moved back to Denver with her French husband the jazz pianist Frédéric Desmoulins and is currently singing in various clubs, and studying classical voice.
Julie’s repertoire is original and eclectic, covering the work of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder and Miles Davis.
We believe Live Jazz should be as accessible as possible. As always there is no cover charge.
