Looking for the best Sunday brunch & Jazz in Denver? Today for Sunday Brunch March 18th 10-2pm, La Cour, French Restaurant & Jazz Club, presents Ellyn Rucker and Jane Uitti playing a tribute to Mark Murphy.
Pianist Ellyn Rucker and jazz violinist Jane Uitti will play a tribute brunch to jazz vocalist Mark Murphy, on Sunday, March 18, from 10:30 to 1:30 at La Cour Art Bar in Denver.
In conjunction with the brunch, Peter Jones’ new biography about Mark Murphy, “This Is Hip: The Life of Mark Murphy,” will be available for sale at the French bistro.
Mark was a prolific arranger and master of scat and vocalese, on over 40 albums he recorded. His birthday is on March 14th, so this tribute is timely in conjunction with the release of the biography. Elyn Rucker played with Mark at the Telluride Jazz Festival, and she knows the depth and intimacy of his jazz tunes. Ellyn and Jane will play a number of jazz standards that Mark recorded, such as But Beautiful, All Blues, Stolen Moments, The Night We Called It A Day, Fly Me To The Moon, Doxy, Round Midnight, Detour Ahead, and others.
La Cour offers tasty brunches with specialty beverages, a perfect Sunday treat for those who love elegant food with excellent jazz.
We believe Live Jazz should be as accessible as possible. As always there is no cover charge.
