The Polite Jazz Quartet is proud to introduce the easy listening of polite jazz. Robert Karow coined the term “polite jazz” from the term “polite be bop”, a term applied to groups of the post be bop era, such as The George Shearing Quintet and The Modern Jazz Quartet, among others.
The Polite Jazz Quartet consisting of Robert Karow, Vibraphone; Jean Milofsky Piano;Ben Makinen Drums and Josh Filley Bass, has performed at such venues as: Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge, The Capitol Hill People’s Fair, The Fourth Story Restaurant and Bar, Strings Restaurant, St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, The Park Hill Congregational Church, The Downtown Fairmont Hotel, The Denver Botanic Gardens, City Park Pavilion, Richie Center at the University of Denver, Children’s Hospital “Soup for the Soul”, and for corporate functions, fundraisers, wedding receptions and for birthday, anniversary and other parties in private homes, to name a few.
